Instruction |
1 | Park your car in the car park at the top of the hill out of Widecombe in the Moor (SX 73535 76756). | 2 | Follow the well trodden path north to Bonehill Rocks, on to Bell Tor and then a good climb up to the top of Chinkwell Tor. Once you summit Chinkwell Tor you will see Honeybag Tor beyond. | 3 | On the way to Honeybag Tor you can peal off the path and see if you can find Slades Well which is more of a muddy spring than a well. | 4 | Carry along the path to the top of Honeybag Tor and sit and enjoy the wonderful views out across the North and East. | 5 | Now follow the same route back to Bonehill Rocks and keep to the west of the tor as you pass, following the line of the boundary wall all the way back until you cross the B3387. | 6 | Pick your way through the sometimes boggy ground to the west and head for Rugglestone Rocks hidden away amongst the trees. | 7 | Now back up the hill to Hollow Tor where you will see Tunhill Rocks to the south. | 8 | Head for Tunhill Rocks and on to Wittaburrow cairn that sits on top of the hill. View from here are great all around. | 9 | Pil Tor is next and easily reached via an obvious path and Top Tor beyond it. | 10 | Once you reach Top Tor, Shovel Stone is visible over to the west and from there it's back to the car park |
